Following weeks of rainouts, the 2011 racing season finally got under way at Middleford Speedway. The redesigned track proved to be racy with several grooves working for the drivers. As changes and improvements continue, it is evident that this track will provide evenings full of excitement for the racers and the fans too.

Feature Race Results:

270 Micro Sprints, 15 Laps:
Ernie Miles takes the first 270 trophy of the season  …. The 270 micros were led all evening by Ernie Miles, first taking the heat race then following up with a feature win. Keith Holiday held on to solid second place finishes while Ashley Metz scored thirds in both races.  Complete results are 1) 29M, Ernie Miles 2) 12, Keith Holiday 3) 14, Ashley Metz   4) 99, William Biro   5) 11, EJ Holz (DNF)

600 Micro Sprints, 20 Laps:
Luke Thomas returns to the 600 Micro Winner’s Circle ….  Luke Thomas is no stranger to winning at Middleford. The micros worked the new track well, finding high lines and low lines to keep the racing close. This week the Thomas Motorsports/DeVault cars set the bar high, dominating the 600 micros with Thomas gaining heat race and feature wins and Tyler DeVault taking home a heat race win and second position in the feature. Jeremy Lynch, sporting a new ride, landed in the third spot edging out Joey Startt who grabbed fourth. Chad Clark in his H2O machine rounded out the top five.  . Jr. Mod Lites, 15 Laps:
JC White scores a Jr. Mod Lite win .... This week gave the fans a peek at some of the upcoming talent in the mod lites as the new Jr’s took the track. JC White led the young guns through the paces, taking home the first win of the season for the class.  Complete results are: 1) JC7, JC White   2) 13, Joseph Radford   3) 55, Ben Syester   4) 55J, Justin Nash   5) 95, Tyler Aichinger


Open Mod Lites, 20 Laps:
Richie Wilson takes the Open Mod Lite victory …. Wow, what a race. The Open Mod Lites never fail to provide excitement as they take the track. Wilson, Steve White and Scott Tessman battled hard throughout the race for the top positions. Bobby Watkins gave an impressive performance as he was working for the front until a spin sent him to the back of the field to restart. Watkins then maneuvered his way back to the leaders, giving White a battle for second and nearly getting it at the end of the race. Wilson held tightly to his lead as White eaked out Watkins. NAPA Chargers, 15 Laps:
It’s season win #1 for Derrick Swafford... And the fans went wild - in what could only be described as a photo finish, Derrick Swafford held on to his race-long lead to get the win over hard charging Kyle Tubbs, from his start in sixth. In typical Charger fashion, the racing was close as Chris Martinez and Hunter Whorten followed Swafford and Tubbs across the line, while Jay Sipple held on to the fifth position. Super Trucks, 15 Laps:
Tyler White scores the Super Truck victory…. Tyler White took home the Super Truck win but it was not without battles along the way . Randy Gray pressured White for the front spot, the two swapping positions throughout the race, but it was White who was in the lead when the checkered flag fell. Pole sitter Guy Mitchell fell early from the race with a flat tire as the rest of the field continued on.
